Employment or Self-Employment

• Employed: Work remotely for a company located outside of Spain with explicit permission from your employer.
• Self-Employed: Be self-employed or own a business, with at least 3 years of professional experience or a recognised degree.
• 3-Month Requirement: Applicants must have been working for their current company (or clients) for at least 3 months before applying.
• Spanish Clients: Self-employed applicants can work with Spanish companies, but this must not exceed 20% of their total professional activity.

Income Requirements

• The main applicant must demonstrate a minimum monthly income of €2,334.
• For dependents:
  • Add €583.50 for the first family member.
  • Add €283.50 for each additional family member

Acceptable Proof:

Provide evidence like work contracts, payslips, or bank statements.

Financial Stability

• Submit a criminal record certificate UK ACRO for the past 5 years.
• The certificate must be:
  • No older than 6 months (unless stated otherwise)
  • Accompanied by a responsible declaration confirming no criminal records during the last 5 years

Valid Health Insurance

• Have private health insurance that meets Spanish requirements OR public coverage (e.g., S1 form).
• The insurance must cover all risks typically insured under Spain’s public health system.

Education or Experience

• Hold an undergraduate or postgraduate degree from a recognised institution, OR
• Have at least 3 years of professional experience in your current field.

Legal Residency and Entry

• Applicants must not have a history of illegal stays in Spain

Social Security Obligations

• For UK Applicants:
  • Submit an A1 form from HMRC confirming UK social security contributions:
    • Form CA3822 for employees.
    • Form CA3837 for self-employed individuals.
  • Include a declaration confirming compliance with UK social security laws
• For Spanish Social Security:
  • Provide a certificate proving registration with the Spanish system, if applicable.

Family Members

• Eligible family members include:
  • Spouses or unmarried partners.
  • Dependent children.
  • Dependent parents or relatives in the ascending line.
• Required documentation:
  • Birth or marriage certificates.
  • Proof of financial dependence for adult children or parents.
  • Legalised or apostille documents, with official translations into Spanish if necessary.

Proof of Residence

• Evidence of legal residence in the consular district where you’re applying.

Additional Requirements for Employees and Self-Employed

• For Employees:
  • Provide a letter from your employer confirming:
    • The duration of your contract.
    • Explicit permission to work remotely from Spain.
    • Details of your salary.
• For Self-Employed Applicants:
  • Submit contracts or agreements with foreign clients.
  • Provide a certificate from Companies House or equivalent, confirming your business registration details.
